Amongst today’s post were two art cards. Funnily enough both feature a nude theme.

The first card shows a painting by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973).  As one of the most recognized figures in 20th-century art, he is best known for co-founding Cubism. Picasso was born in the Andalusian city of Malaga in southern Spain. Here’s something I never knew about Picasso and I bet you didn’t either. His full name was Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso. Wow! 😮

Thanks so much for the card tobiejonzarelli!

This painting by Czech artist Günter Hujber (born 1966) very much reminds me of Salvador Dalí. Unfortunately I don’t speak Czech so I can’t understand what the title of this painting is. Anyone out there who could translate it for me please? It says “Don Quiote se snaží pod psím hradem zvednout dodělávající duhu.” If you know what this means, please leave a comment with the English translation. Thanks very much! It was painted in 1998 and depicts Don Quiote trying to raise The Dying Rainbow under the Dog Castle. Thanks very much Günter for translating the title into English! 🙂
